About Us

We are a small and friendly company based in Porlock Weir, Somerset. We have a tiny glass studio and a Gallery which sells our glassware, Dichroic jewellery and a whole host of other curious items in glass and otherwise. A selection of our products are available on this website.

Handmade Glassware

At Exmoor Glass we follow an ancient method of manufacture using the same tools and techniques as in Roman times. We gather glass molten from a furnace then blow it and shape it by hand into a range of contemporary and traditional designs. Each piece we make is freely blown and hand fashioned to produce the finest, most distinctive and original glass. All finished items are hand engraved with our trademark signature, ‘Exmoor’.

 

Cranberry Glass is currently the most popular style of glass we make at Exmoor, but we regularly take on commissions for bespoke pieces – the more interesting the better. In the past we have recreated period glassware for the TV and film industry and our work has been featured in Harry Potter, Ever After and Moll Flanders. We regularly create glassware to fit antique liners and make a variety of other items which are sold directly in our Gallery. Whether your preference is for traditional or contemporary, we invite you to share with us the beauty of free-blown, hand-made glass.

 

Iluminati Fusion Dichroic Glass Jewellery

We have been having a Dichroic Glass Jewellery adventure at Exmoor Glass since 2003. We aim to make each of our pieces individual and are constantly experimenting with new techniques and materials. This is our jewellery’s first outing on the Internet. Dichroic glass is difficult to photograph and our production ethos means that each piece has to have its picture taken individually and posted on his site. The jewellery that is pictured on this site is exactly the jewellery you will receive, and to that end, we hope that you enjoy wearing our work as much as we enjoy making it. If you have your own ideas we can also create bespoke pieces made to your designs.

To get to Porlock Weir; follow the A39 to Porlock, go through Porlock village and take signposted B3225 to Porlock Weir.  Exmoor Glass looks out over Porlock Harbour.

Packaging and Gift Wrapping

At one time we sent out all our products in gift boxes as a matter of course. After consideration we decided to switch to more planet friendly methods. We are now proud to use exclusively recycled and recyclable boxes and packaging, this includes our bubble wrap which is biodegradable. If you require a gift box for your glass, please let us know in the “special instructions/comments” box and we will arrange this for you. Recycled packaging is included in the cost of your order, gift boxes will incur an extra charge.Gift wrapping is available for all items at a charge of £2.50.

 

Unfortunately, given the tiny size of our company it is impossible for us to stock the entire range of our products online.
